Card Payment Specialist

Hingham’s Digital Banking Group is looking for a Card Payments Specialist to take responsibility for the Bank’s card payments business and infrastructure. You will be responsible for delivering and supporting all card payment tools and related payment system interfaces, including Mastercard. You will be the key point of contact for all card payments and our card payments operations that support our client facing teams. Although we are almost 200 years old, we have a small, entrepreneurial team – just under 100 people – and we hold each other to high standards.

The Digital Banking Group plays an important role in our ongoing product development and process improvement efforts, aimed at providing a higher level of service to our customers, and may be responsible for identifying, testing, and delivering new products and services for our customers.

Responsibilities – What You’ll Get to Do

  • Product
    • Manage the card payments processing function and supporting business metrics and indicators for payment services including but not limited to usage, fraud monitoring and profitability
    • Contribute to the development and ongoing assessment of operational policy and procedures, adjusting as needed in response to operational or regulatory changes
    • Assist in defining or enhancing product strategies for payment technologies to improve client experience and/or processing efficiencies related to card payment operations.
    • Ability to manage incidents in terms of incident identification, scope assessment, solution analysis, remediation and communication efforts to client, internal teams and vendors through to resolution.
    • Facilitate dialogue across functional areas and management levels.
  • Service
    • Manage card queues including card orders, fraud notifications, travel notifications, card adjustments and card maintenance, ensuring timely processing while mitigating for fraud and risk
    • Monitor card disputes to ensure disputes are processed timely and in accordance with Regulation E guidelines
    • Monitor fraud mitigating alerts and rule performance, recommending strategies to minimize exposure and loss while limiting client impact.
    • Perform balancing activities for card payments and ATM network
    • Conduct client outreach for verification of high-risk activity
    • Ensure compliance across all payment channels for payment related laws and regulations including but not limited to Regulation E and Mastercard Rules
    • Resolve complex issues related to the various card payment channels, serving as the escalation point with vendors and internal teams.
    • Identify opportunities to develop or modify current workflows to further enhance client engagement with card payments while maintaining sensitivity to risk.

    Requirements

    Successful candidates will have in depth knowledge and service experience with card payment systems, including dispute processing. Candidates will also demonstrate extensive knowledge of the rules and regulations governing payment processing, including but not limited to Regulation E and Mastercard Rules.
