Role Purpose Statement:
Join a dynamic team of behavioral and experimental scientists with a focus on expanding our work in Latin America! As a Behavioral Analyst, you will be at the forefront of a regional effort focused on financial inclusion, gender-based violence (GBV), behavioral systemic analysis, and more. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support all aspects of behavioral research for clients, including conducting literature reviews, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and developing research instruments.
- Conduct field research, including interviews and data collection, in diverse environments.
- Design and test behavioral interventions, working closely with clients and end-users to co-create solutions.
- Prepare client deliverables such as reports, experimental designs, literature reviews, and presentations.
- Participate actively in client presentations, co-design sessions, and conferences.
- Assist in managing logistics for project activities, ensuring smooth operations in coordination with Busara’s Project Operations team.
- Work across multiple large-scale research and advisory projects simultaneously, supporting senior staff as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or related fields.
- Fluency in English and native-level Spanish, with excellent writing skills in both languages.
- High level of self-motivation, with a proactive and adaptable approach to work.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Willingness to travel and work in the field, often in challenging or sensitive environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work independently as well as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Portuguese and/or French.
- Familiarity with randomized controlled trials and behavioral science.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as R, STATA, Python, or SAS.
- Prior experience in strategy consulting, user experience design, survey science, or human-centered design.
- Experience working on projects involving sensitive topics like GBV, migration, and other emotionally intense subjects.
As a Behavioral Science Analyst, you will tackle a wide array of impactful projects, including:
– Increasing vaccination rates through behavioral research and design in the Caribbean.
– Driving financial inclusion and adoption of new financial technologies across Latin America.
– Promoting healthy food choices and local produce consumption in the Caribbean.
– Understanding and reducing systemic barriers that affect victims of GBV in Guatemala.
– Enhancing GBV reporting mechanisms in multinational organizations.
– Addressing development and social issues affecting Latin America, such as migration, education, and public health.
Each project presents an opportunity to work on complex challenges with real-world implications, leveraging behavioral science and systemic analysis to create meaningful change.
This role is only open to applicants who have a pre-existing legal right to work in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, or remote with the ability to relocate for extended periods to Mexico City.
