Apple MAC System Administrator

Summary:The IT MAC System Administrator will serve as the primary person involved in the day-to-day support of a growing number of Apple devices and their integration into a Windows environment that is also moving towards an Enterprise MAC solution. This requires a flexible IT professional with excellent skills in maintaining a cross platform network. Being able to maintain the highest security profiles and providing ability to closely provide the end user experience demanded by a business environment that relies heavily on a Microsoft network will be a daily function. Excellent communication skills to adapt to the ever-changing requirements within the CCM IT team and being able to closely work staff to explain the proper expectations with their devices will instrumental in a successful deployment and continual improvement. The IT MAC System Administrator will be expected to work closely with existing IT teams, particularly to ensure that any solutions meet CCM standards and do not create an unnecessary business burden.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the engineering, support and deployment of the standard IOS on site that will work in a Windows network environment effectively

  • Develop and maintain Apple servers and any additional equipment needed to manage the IOS devices

  • Work as a customer advocate to ensure that the desktop maintains high performance and ease of use

  • Provide training for first level support personnel

  • Provide second and third level support for Mac desktop related issues.

  • Participate in the software packaging quality assurance process for all supported applications

  • Standard Desktop Design and Implementation

  • Develop and document Standard Desktop configuration – identify potential security risks and implements appropriate countermeasures

  • Evaluate tools to facilitate efficient deployment of desktop to enterprise users

  • Act as a customer advocate to ensure that the desktop maintains high performance and ease of use

  • Desktop Deployment and Support

  • Develop documentation and training materials for Deployment Technicians

  • Test and verify Standard Desktop image with supported hardware configurations

  • Develop and deploy packages and updates to desktop clients

  • Communicate with vendors to open support incidents and future purchasing options

  • Test compatibility with new Standard Desktops and Standard hardware configurations

  • Create, troubleshoot, and deploy packages and updates to Mac clients

  • Second and third level Desktop-related Trouble Ticket Support

  • Develop Service Desk materials to assist in their ability to troubleshoot issues at the first level

  • Participate in the software packaging quality assurance process for all supported applications

  • Engineer laptop imaging process

  • Collaborate with Service Desk and Customer Service to deliver feature-rich and user-friendly laptops to users

  • Develop, publish, and maintain system documentation according to department standards

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical field preferred or equal or greater time of related work experience.

  • Experience working with Infrastructure and Software development methodologies in a business environment e.g. ITIL. Training in PCI / PHI / HIPAA confidentiality and governance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:Supervision of staff is required.
