This role handles financial planning and analysis for the workforce services portfolio. The Federal Budget Analyst monitors program activity throughout the year and prepares related invoices. The position is responsible for producing accurate, timely invoices based on agreements with each jurisdiction. It is also charged with developing annual budgets, creating forecasts in collaboration with program leads, and uploading the latest budgets or forecasts into the financial system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare financial projections and budgets for jurisdictional agreements. Ensure spending plans are created and carried out in line with agreements and organizational priorities. Oversee post-award contract administration, including reviewing and tracking agreements and transactions for compliance. Support the CDCF annual budget process and quarterly forecasts. Reconcile revenues and expenses. Perform regular analyses comparing budgeted amounts to actual results. Advise program leads on budgets and revisions when required. Prepare monthly or quarterly jurisdictional invoices. Upload new budgets and budget changes into the financial system. Provide leadership with financial analysis for designated workforce services budgets. Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred. Five to seven years of financial analysis experience in the nonprofit sector preferred. Strong organizational abilities, including skill in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks with careful attention to detail. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work effectively with internal teams and external partners. Experience working with a general ledger accounting system required. Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system strongly preferred. Experience with Adaptive Insights and NetSuite Analytics Warehouse strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Excel required. Ability to handle both advanced accounting tasks and basic, entry‑level responsibilities. Ability to manage confidential information appropriately. Capacity to work independently is essential.
