Web App Programmer Description: We are seeking a Web Programmer to build web applications and back-end functionality for content managed websites. Renthoop differentiates from other websites by promoting transparency and community in the college rental market. Our startup is looking for a programmer immediately, we look forward to hearing from you.

Duties:

• Develop, test, and support Ruby on Rails, PHP and Java web applications.

• Develop and customize e-commerce websites often employing tools such as Spree Commerce, Prestashop, or Magento.

• Utilize and develop APIs to build applications and connect diverse systems such as CRM, e-commerce, accounting and messaging systems or services.

• Develop back-end and extended functionality for Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla CMS websites.

• Willingness and aptitude to move seamlessly between multiple programming languages, frameworks, and platforms.

• Bring your own expertise to share with the staff and add to your experience by learning from others in a collaborative environment.

• Administration and support of client sites hosted under Windows and Linux. Requirements:

• Experience in Ruby, PHP, and / or Java

• Experience using MVC frameworks like Rails, Cake, and / or Django

• Knows agile development practices, and is excited to use them.

• Understanding of SQL and data modeling.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and / or JQuery
• Experience with Vagrant as a virtual development environment
• Experience using Linux / Unix operating systems
