Authentic Form & Function is seeking an experienced web developer to join their growing and vibrant team. Remote and contract-to-full time. United States residents only, currently residing in the US, only. No businesses or recruiters.
This position is not:
For someone who’s not results oriented
Our work is our creative lifeline, allowing us to live on our own terms, and collaborating in our unique remote environment. We expect team members to be results oriented, accountable for the work they do, and each day, creating output that pushes the company forward.
For someone trying to climb the corporate ladder
We’re a small lean team, with members dispersed throughout the country. We strive to be a close-knit group of creatives, not a hire and fire production shop. Our value comes from our ability to work cohesively as a team, understanding the ebbs and flows of working with one another..
For someone with single areas of expertise
While we don’t expect someone to be a master of everything, we believe designers should be familiar with code, and developers understand design. You will be asked to work outside your comfort zone, and encouraged to learn and cultivate your skill set into new areas of interest.
This position provides:
A way to work inside your passion
We love client work because it lets us percolate amidst favorable industries and with similar minds that share our passions. We consider our company a “lifestyle studio,” meaning our personal lives and ethos cross business/personal borders on a daily basis.
We enjoy active and healthy lifestyles, talking music, design, fashion, and technology. We strive to work with clients inside these industries and strive for the projects we accept to be exciting.
The chance to be an entrepreneur
We aren’t hiring an employee; we’re hiring someone to help grow Authentic F&F organically. We want a personality ready to set goals with us and do whatever it takes to make them happen.
We should note that we write a lot about remote work and its challenges, expectations, and successes. We encourage you to read up on a few of these to get a better feel for fit within our culture: here, here, and here.
Unique perks
In addition to working with an amazing team that you’ll help mold, we make sure we take care of our employees from the beginning:
Location independence and laid back company culture
Semi-annual company retreats
Coworking space coverage
Monthly lifestyle stipend
Monthly healthcare stipend
Mission of the role
The mission for this role is to execute on internal and client-facing projects, collaborating with designers, developers, and company partners to build exceptional work which helps push our company forward.
The work will be a mixture of technical development work, as well as internal strategy, marketing, and alignment efforts, using your expertise to help build the technical arm of our business beyond just the execution of projects.
Desired outcomes
Develop and launch client projects, within budget and on time
Execute and launch 2-4 internal projects, quarterly, on behalf of the development team
Write and publish 2 Journal posts, quarterly, contributing knowledge and thought leadership
How to Apply
This is a contract to full time position. During the contract phase, you’ll become familiar with our processes and team, jumping right into active projects. If it makes sense for you (and for us) you’ll transition seamlessly to full time after three months on board.
When you get in touch, we’re not interested in a boilerplate sentence. We’re a tight-knit group and want this position to filled by a unique someone who communicates well and that understands going the extra mile is, at times, very necessary.
If this is you, amazing! Please apply with:
A cover letter of sorts; it doesn’t need to be fancy, but tell us about yourself, why you think you’d be a good fit, and what you will you bring to the team. We want to know.
