What we are looking for
The Make It So (MISo) team takes wild ideas from LSi’s talent network and makes them happen. Under the guidance of the MISo project manager, and in close collaboration with the MISo learning designer, you will use your mastery of web technologies to:
- set up and manage an AppEngine instance, EdX Studio on AWS with edX’s AMI and cbX on Coursebuilder;
- review feasibility of course features, developing and implementing features validated as feasible;
- prepare and revise mock-ups for review by team;
- push code for testing and fix technology based on test results;
- manage the security review and necessary fixes;
- lead implementation on Course Builder to assemble the online course;
- manage course development workflow with edX Studio, App Engine XBlock, cbX, and edx-ora2;
- create course content within edX Studio, in collaboration with the learning designer;
- implement front-end changes to the appearance of template-based course pages;
- manage course web sites day-to-day, including resolving technical questions from team and learners;
- implement an integrated front-end design for Course Builder and WordPress-based site;
- set up and manage a WordPress installation with customized theme and plugins; and
- make it so.
Minimum qualifications, experience and capabilities
- Up-to-date with the latest and greatest innovations in learning technologies (or capable of getting there fast).
- 2 years minimum work experience in the edutech and online learning design world.
- Mastery of Google Cloud Platform and AppEngine, Python, and Javascript.
- Ability to thrive in a VUCA, agile, decentralized, lean, global virtual team (across time zones and cultures).
Preferred qualifications, experience and capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
- Experience with using EdX Studio and/or Google CourseBuilder.
- Experience in humanitarian, global health and/or development learning.
Salary and compensation
$30,000 — $100,000/year
