OVERVIEW

We’re a bootstrapped, early-stage company built around analyzing large-scale data. and we are looking for someone to join us to build and scale our web applications team.

You will play a crucial role of building the client-facing part of our product, which is our ‘Presentation Layer’. These range from standard REST-ful APIs to dashboards, which have to scale to the levels of delivering multi-million requests a day in the most frugal manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and deliver data visualization-heavy web applications
• Design and deliver REST-ful HTTP APIs.
• Ensure all web applications are performant. Some of our clients generate massive amounts of data every hour, our applications have to be able to handle all that traffic and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A track record of building and deploying apps as a part of your job, or as side projects.
• Fluency in at least one of: Python, PHP, Java, Go, Scala, Javascript.
• Know enough of HTML and CSS to know what a polyfill is and what is the exact problem it solves.
• At least basic familiarity with a full batteries-included stack and a minimalistic stack in one of the above languages.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

• Knowledge of JS visualization libraries like D3.js

• Knowledge of best practices in designing HTTP REST-ful APIs. You should know what the verb ‘PATCH’ does without having to Google it.

• The ability to acquire any skills that are required and a positive attitude.

• We are not very picky about the stack that should be used, but our current expertise on the web application front is LAMP and, to a lesser extent, Python-based stacks.

• Experience and educational qualifications are not that important if you can demonstrate to us that you know how fulfill the role described above, without having to Google your way through it.
