Stack Overflow exists to serve developers. Whether we’re helping developers get answers to their questions or find a new job, we build products that make millions of developers’ lives better every day. As a UX researcher, you’ll have a major impact on how we build products by equipping our product teams with insightful, actionable user research.

This is a unique opportunity to be the first-ever dedicated UX researcher at Stack Overflow, and help shape how user research is done at the company. As a member of the design team, you’ll work with all our product managers, designers and developers to iteratively design products that delight our users. You’ll help us execute research, and teach us how to do it better.

We’re looking for someone with experience doing UX research who is excited to help define a new role and evangelize user research within the company. You’ll have an immediate impact by joining existing projects to do research on feature usefulness and usability, and expand into longer-term strategic research as the role of UX research grows in our company. As our first hire you’ll do a bit of everything, but we are specifically focusing on qualitative user research for this role.
