We’relookingforanexperienced, senior-­level individual to join our user experience design team atTenableNetworkSecurity.

TheSeniorUXDesignerwill report to the UXDesign Manager, and will playa crucial role in ensuringthatourproductsare easyto learn, use, and manage. You will workwith a cross­functionalteamconsisting of Engineersand Product Managersto advance design mockups/prototypesintoproduction implementations.

Youspecializeininteractions, flows, visual design, and communication methodsto ensure we’re buildingproductsourexisting and new customerswill love. You will workto shape how our designandproductteamsworktogether. Most importantly, you care deeplyabout helping to our customerstoexperiencea technical product that iseasyto use.

Youareeagertolearn.Ourproduct solvesextremelytechnical problemsand isused bya tech­savvyaudience. Inorderforyou to solve problemsand come up with smart solutions—you’llneedtoworkhard at understanding not onlyour products, but our industryas well.Thatmeansyouwillneed to come in asa student first, seeking to understand and not quicktodrivechange.

Youareateamplayer.Ourteamishighlycollaborative and we have design critiquesfrequently. Youshouldhavestrongopinionsthat are also looselyheld. You should be willing to fight for yourideas,butwillingtoaccept feedbackfromanyone. Yourgoal should be the best solution overanythingelse.TheUXteamat Tenable usesthe word “we”rather than “I” asmuch as possible.Thatisbecauseall of ourdesigners, engineersand product teamsinfluence the design—notjustthedesigner. We have incrediblysmart people in our teamsand therefore we treateveryoneasafellow designer.

Youhaveastronganddiverse background. At Tenable, we believe that UX Designersare individualsexperiencedin visual design, interaction design, information architecture and more. Youhavetheabilitytoturn research into basicwireframes, then into rich interactive prototypes andalsotoproducehigh-­fidelitygraphics. You can explain each piece of an interaction and writespecificationsforourengineers.

Yourorganizationskillsare unmatched. We workhard to create transparencywith all of our work.Ourteamshareseverything and hasa zero­-ownership mentality. Therefore your abilityto organizeyourworksothat it can be easilyaccessed and understood byanother designer is incrediblyimportant.

Youareagreatcommunicator. We believe that great designersare also great communicators. But,partofbeingagreat communicatorisalso being a great listener. Your speaking, presenting,andlisteningskillsshould be top notch.

Youdon’tletyourexperience, title, ortalentsgo to yourhead. You start from a place of learning, listeningandunderstanding. You realize that yourjob and goalshave nothing to do with you, buthaseverythingtodowith the userand solving theirproblems. Your job isabout the big picture,usersatisfaction.

• Conceptualizing,designing and producing deliverablesfor user interface.

• Createhigh-­fidelityvisual mockups

• Workcloselywithproduct managers, engineering, customersand other stakeholdersto proactivelygather and understand usabilityconcernsand areasfor improvement

• Establishdetailed usabilityand design guidelinesforproduct development based on industrybestpracticesand competitive benchmarking

• Createandmaintaining a libraryof design and interface resourcesfor use byproduct teams

• Ideateandstoryboard design solutionsbased on userfeedback.
