A Registered Dietitian delivers nutrition counseling by phone to members and patients managing chronic conditions. They assist individuals in selecting, preparing, and eating foods that best support their needs as part of a long-term care and nutrition program for chronic illnesses. Common chronic conditions include diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease. Using a member/patient-centered approach, the dietitian works directly with each person to identify and address the nutrition-related issues that matter most to them. They also connect members/patients with additional nutrition and care resources provided by the health plan, healthcare system, or the local community.

**Hourly rate: $26.60–$35.00**

**Responsibilities may include:**
– Providing phone-based nutrition counseling to each member/patient; the number of sessions depends on the program the participant is enrolled in
– Recording educational objectives and documenting care/case planning in the platform
– Scheduling follow-up calls and completing ongoing check-ins to support each member/patient
– Developing training materials and nutrition tools as needed
– Recommending appropriate community resources for clients
– Maintaining professional knowledge through continued education, including reading industry publications, networking with professional groups, and participating in professional organizations
– Creating social media content and videos for company articles, blogs, and other posts for the company newsletter and website when required or upon request

**Required Knowledge and Experience:**
– Bachelor’s degree in nutrition science or dietetics
– **Registered Dietitian certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration**
– State recognition/authorization and ability to obtain a license in the state of residence (if required)
– **At least 2 years of experience providing nutrition counseling/training**
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Good organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others
– Regular use of standard office technology, including laptops, computers, and smartphones
– Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal daily supervision
– Ability to perform clinical assessments to determine whether nutrition education is appropriate for each member/patient

**Preferred Knowledge and Experience:**
– Experience providing nutrition counseling/training by phone
– Training in health coaching, motivational interviewing, and intuitive/mindful eating
– **Registered Dietitian license in NY, WI and/or OR**

**Physical Requirements:**
– Frequent hand and finger movement, including wrists, hands, and/or fingers
– Primarily sitting work, especially during extended periods with limited mobility
– Vision requirements, including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
