The Specialized Tech recruiting team focuses on our most complex and high-priority hiring across Product, Design, Data Science, and Security. We drive results through strategic, data-guided, and principle-based recruiting practices that enable thoughtful growth while ensuring an excellent candidate experience.
In this position, you will lead and grow a specialized technical recruiting team responsible for hiring top candidates across Product, Design, Data Science, and Security. You will serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders, guiding hiring strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring recruiting efforts support Plaid’s long-term product and growth goals. You will mentor senior recruiters, influence executives through data and insights, and continuously refine recruiting processes to achieve high-quality hiring at scale.
Responsibilities
• Lead and motivate a team of recruiters focused on Product, Design, Data Science, and Security roles, establishing clear expectations and fostering strong performance.
• Collaborate closely with senior leaders across EPD to align on hiring needs, headcount planning, and long-term talent strategy.
• Own and optimize recruiting processes at scale, ensuring they are efficient, consistent, data-driven, and centered on the candidate experience.
• Identify bottlenecks and gaps in the hiring process, develop creative solutions, and implement best practices to improve quality, speed, and overall experience.
• Achieve strong hiring results by balancing urgency with thoughtful, inclusive, high-standard recruiting.
• Build trusted relationships throughout the organization and act as a strategic advisor on hiring strategy, market insights, and talent trends.
Qualifications
• At least 3 years of experience leading technical recruiting teams
• At least 6 years of total recruiting experience
• Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders during growth periods and leading process improvements
• Experience scaling engineering or technical recruiting with strong knowledge of hiring best practices
• Ability to assess recruiting processes, recommend improvements, and lead change management
• Proven ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams, with a collaborative and curious leadership style
• A candidate-first approach, with the ability to balance speed, quality, and experience
• Preferred experience in Product Management roles (such as consumer, platform, growth, infrastructure, or API products), Security, or Data Science at scale
129,504 to 289,200 dollars per year
The base salary range for this role is 129,504 to 289,200 dollars per year across all geographic zones. Actual base salary will depend on location.
Zone 1 includes New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Zone 2 includes Los Angeles, Seattle, and Washington D.C.
Zone 3 includes Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, and San Diego.
Zone 4 includes Raleigh-Durham and all other US cities.
This salary range applies to full-time roles and does not include commission, equity, or benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and relevant training.
