The IT Support Specialist will conduct maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Helpdesk. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of the Company’s PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
This position will be located in our Des Moines, IA location with some days in Ankeny, IA as needed.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
- Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority
- Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation
- Utilize and maintain the helpdesk asset tracking DB
- Document internal procedures
- Assist with onboarding of new users and equipment moves and setup
- Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment
- Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
- Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software, familiar with current imaging standards and encryption techniques
- Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory
- Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant work-related experience
- Knowledge of Windows 10, and basic knowledge of windows server environments and server software
- PC and Laptop imaging, configuration and support
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work without direct supervision
- Have a "go-getter" mentality and be able to stay busy without being tasked with projects
- Excellent customer service skills to support internal users
- Strong ability to work with team members across multiple departments
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Communications or related field
Physical Requirements
- Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Typical office environment, majority of work performed on computer
- Ability to carry and lift up to 40 lbs
- Must be able to bend, kneel and crawl in tight spaces
