Summary of Position:
Scholar Rock is seeking a Senior Director of Project Management & Due Diligence to lead and streamline due diligence processes for corporate, clinical, and technology out-licensing or divestments. Reporting to the CBO, this role is responsible for defining due diligence strategies, tracking opportunities, leading cross-functional diligence teams, and managing timelines. The ideal candidate has strong scientific acumen, deep knowledge of drug development and commercialization, and excellent communication skills.
This role will be a key internal and external-facing leader within the CS&BD team, representing BD efforts and leading short-term cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
Candidate Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute due diligence and project management strategies for CS&BD.
    • Partner with BD Deal leads to drive cross-functional due diligence teams, ensuring alignment and efficient decision-making.
    • Manage and maintain virtual data rooms (VDRs) and oversee Q&A processes with external partners.
    • Track and communicate project status, risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation strategies for multiple transactions in parallel.
    • Manage and run CS&BD team meetings, track deliverables and project timelines.
    • Prepare and present updates to governance bodies and senior leadership.
    • Act as a liaison across Legal/IP, Finance, Operations, R&D, and Commercial teams.
    • Maintain detailed records of deal-related documents.
    • Support best practices for BD processes, fostering collaboration across research, development, and commercial teams. Conduct reviews following deal completion to understand successful processes and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
    • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and therapeutic landscapes.
    • Up to 20% travel, including international.
Candidate Requirements:

    • PhD in a related field with 10+ years of industry experience in biopharma and 15+ years of post-degree experience
    • 5+ years in alliance management, program management, or BD-related roles.
    • Strong scientific background with working knowledge across multiple development phases (IND to commercialization).
    • Proven ability to lead project plans, timelines, and budget planning.
    • Experience running due diligence processes and supporting BD deal execution across various deal structures.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort engaging senior leadership.
    • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
