About the Role

As the Strategic Workforce Planning Manager you will be responsible for managing, deploying and producing the strategic workforce plan (SWP) for Ocado Technology. You will work closely with numerous stakeholders within Senior Management, Stream leadership, Project team, People, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development & Management, People Analytics, Finance and Strategy to ensure that the strategic workforce planning process is completed across Ocado Technology in line with the SWP playbook and ensure the SWP is operationalised and delivered.
Reporting to the International Talent Acquisition Manager, this is a newly created role offered on a fixed term contract up until the end of November 2022. The SWP process is a critical and developing area key to supporting Ocado Technology’s strategic objectives and the future of its workforce. The role will require an experienced data-centric, self-starting leader who can collaborate with and alongside stakeholder groups, delivering 1-on-1 sessions and workshops to gather the required information and data before consolidating all analyses to assist in developing effective strategies and action plans.
What we’d like you to do
Provide leadership on the planning for future workforce requirements for Ocado Technology
Lead the development of accurate baseline analysis across Ocado Technology and establish the environmental drivers of workforce demand and supply to support the development of planning scenarios
Assist with workforce planning activities and modelling required as part of business and activity planning in line with internal and external requirements.
Support the business to develop an 18 month horizon workforce plan that will include working collaboratively with key stakeholders across Ocado Technology
Manage, deploy and continuously improve our strategic workforce planning process and develop the businesses understanding and importance of SWP
Conduct workshops to establish workforce supply and demand forecasts to identify and assess risks in workforce gaps
Interpret and consolidate all analyses, insights, data and research to enable the co-design of talent and people strategies and action plans to address workforce risks
Work closely with People and Finance leads to create shared assumptions which align with OT headcount and financial plans;
Utilise and develop the SWP Playbook and toolkit to ensure best practices and guidance evolves to ensure SWP works for Ocado Technology
Organise and co-ordinate data gathering and analysis with People Analytics to ensure that SWP cycle deadlines are met
Work with the People Analytics team to scan the external market for SWP tools and technologies and evaluate fit for the Ocado Technology SWP process
What we’re looking for
Significant experience of strategic workforce planning ideally within a similar fast-paced, technology company
Excellent understanding of strategic workforce issues, priorities, developments and implications in relation to the Technology sector
Background in workforce consulting, talent acquisition/management or people analytics would be a bonus
Ability to programme/project manage
Experience of working with complex workforce data sets
Experience in producing accurate workforce forecasts for rapidly growing, scaling organisations
Experience in collecting data, and producing analysis and reports to drive decision making
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Comfortable in a highly ambiguous and fast paced environment, able to take responsibility from day one and work independently by following processes and own directions
