Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

Position Overview:
If you want exposure to a wide range of SQL environments, opportunities to create automation and other DBA tools, and more time dedicated to hands-on SQL DBA responsibilities, Red9 is the right place for you. We take a highly selective approach and hire only passionate, top-tier A+ performers. You’ll work with the newest database tools and techniques. We tackle hard problems, move quickly, and help ensure our clients’ SQL systems run as efficiently as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Design innovative SQL Server solutions (on-premises and cloud)
- Optimize and tune underperforming SQL
- Troubleshoot a wide variety of database issues for multiple clients
- Approach work with an “owner’s mindset”
Minimum Qualifications:
- Verbal and written English proficiency
- 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Expertise in T-SQL
- Ability to performance tune slow-running SQL
- Capability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Strong attention to detail
Ideal Skills:
- Experience with Always On, clustering, replication, extended events, and baselining
- Experience with running migrations and upgrades
- Ability to build and maintain SOPs
- Knowledge of other programming languages is a plus
- PowerShell
