Job Description
The Software Engineer II (Frontend) is responsible for designing and developing our main product, Ignition, as well as other software that is used by internal and external customers of Inductive Automation, LLC. They perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The Software Engineer II (Frontend) works under the guidance of the Senior Development team and in collaboration with the Support Division to improve the quality and functionality of our software by adding new features and repairing defects in the software. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.
Responsibilities

    • Designs, develops and maintains scalable and efficient software applications using high level programming languages
    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define technical specifications for new features
    • Conducts code reviews along with senior developers to ensure high quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices
    • Debugs and troubleshoots complex software issues in development, test and production; providing timely solutions and enhancements
    • Documents code, processes and technical specifications for future reference
    • Authors and improves automated tests
    • Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge
    • Maintains responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their code
    • Contributes to team activities and collaborates within the team to solve problems
Requirements

    • 3 years of programming experience OR 2 years Ignition experience and 2 years programming experience
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proficiency in one or more programming languages including but not limited to Typescript, JavaScript etc.
    • Ability to work collaboratively on a team, especially in a remote environment
    • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)
    • Familiarity with source control management systems such as GitHub
    • Meets and maintains 6 month performance milestones provided by their manager
    • Preferred, but not required:
    • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture
    • Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling
    • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular 2) is a plus
$115,000 – $135,000 a year
Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $115k – $135k. This role will be paid hourly.
Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
