This is a great opportunity to contribute to Elastic’s new Product offering- Packetbeat. Note this is a remote role unless you are located near our offices in Mt View CA, London, Berlin, Phoenix and want to work in these locations.

Starting with Packetbeat for network packet analytics, the Beats platform is the basis for building open source collectors for log files, infrastructure metrics, and other important types of data you want to enrich with Logstash, search in Elasticsearch, and visualize with Kibana.

The Beats team is responsible for building lightweight shippers (called Beats) that can collect and send all sorts of operational data to Elasticsearch. The current Beats are implemented in Golang.

Responsibilities

• Write open source code for the different Beats

• Define and create new Beats

• Collaborate with other development teams, quality engineering team and documentation team to execute on product deliverables
