Piton Labs is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across different layers of the development stack, with a strong preference for a background in backend software development. The ideal candidate should also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience in startups—whether through your own project or working at an early-stage company—is considered an added advantage. We strongly prefer candidates located in time zones between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we may consider others depending on the circumstances.

Responsibilities and Technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with startups and established organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll work with the natural ambiguity and complexity that come with building software, helping clients build their products and decide what to build. Rather than executing tasks from a fixed checklist, you’ll contribute to prioritization and focus on solving the problems that deliver the most value to our clients.

We don’t insist on specific technologies, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a core web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. You must be able to consistently produce reliable, tested code.

A typical workweek may include:
• Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Designing and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to key stakeholders at the client

• Experienced: you have 5+ years in the field and have worked across a variety of projects

Remote Work Policy
• Our team is fully remote; we don’t have a physical office
• We prefer candidates based in the United States with legal work authorization
• Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay are a secondary preference
• Most days, we expect 4 to 6 hours of overlap with US East Coast working hours
• Digital nomads are welcome—your work location can be flexible
