PureGym has a new opportunity for a Contract Software Engineer to join our 50-strong IT team based in Southampton.

You will bring deep technical skills to a high performing, cross-functional team who are responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and testing of the infrastructure, applications and services which fall within your stream of work.

Day-to-day, your tasks will include:

• Owning and delivering against a variety of tasks including new features, bugs and tech debt

• Ensuring output is of high quality, maintainable, performant and secure

• Taking ownership of the technical delivery of well-defined tasks

• Configuring and utilising build and deployment mechanisms to deploy changes through different environments

• Actively participate in stand ups and other Agile ceremonies

Technical Must-Haves

• 5 years’ C# development experience

• 2 years’ experience with modern front-end development frameworks and tooling (ReactJS preferable)

• Experience writing automated unit and functional tests

Technical Should-Haves

• BDD with Specflow or Gherkin syntax

• Design Patterns

• Rest API design and creation

• Use of CI/CD tools (such as TeamCity/Octopus Deploy/DevOps Pipelines)

• IaC – Ansible / Terraform

• Git

• Azure PaaS products

• Agile methodologies
