Opportunity: You will play the lead role in designing and building Level’s customer-facing solutions. As the core contributor to Level’s user-facing web and mobile applications, you will often design and build new components from the ground up. You will also be the mentor for junior front-end engineers.

What you will do

Drive the end-to-end software design and implementation on Level’s customer-facing Web and mobile apps.

Provide expertise and leadership on various technologies such as Web, Mobile apps, back-end business logic with micro services and data lakes.
Drive the end-to-end software design and implementation on Level’s customer-facing Web and mobile apps.
Envision creative solutions that get the job done and communicate effectively around your vision to other stakeholders
Work with a variety of technologies on various back-end components, including our APIs, services, databases, and serverless components
Carefully balance the level of quality necessary for maintainability with the velocity necessary for an early-stage startup
Translate business requirements into engineering tasks which can be accurately estimated
Participate in customer research activities and incorporate insights into technical designs
Maintain an owner mentality with each feature launch – always designing for customer feedback measurement
Effectively work independently with minimal guidance
Assist in hiring and the growth of Level’s engineering team

What you will bring

You’re a team player and are eager to contribute to the overall growth of the engineering team. You have a “get it done” attitude and will take ownership of growing Level from day one, including a willingness to lead your own team. You thrive on challenges and are invigorated by momentum, accomplishment and building things with purpose.

8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
4+ years of experience with some of our front-end tech stack ( React or React Native)
4+ years working in an Agile environment and proficient in the scrum and kanban methodology.
Experience working with software patterns and computer science fundamentals
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Substantive experience designing and building high-quality software applications
Experience integrating with back-end REST APIs and 3rd party vendors
Excellent attention to detail
FinTech experience is a plus
Be comfortable in wearing many hats that is typical in a startup environment
