Recently graduated from 500 Startups Batch 10, Whim (http://trywhim.com) is looking to make its key second technical hire. This critical role requires a strong, backend focused software engineer with a well-rounded skill set. Our backend is written in Golang, so a love for Go/concurrent programming is important. You’ll need to execute on a variety of challenges, from honing the performance of our backend, to solving issues within our various methods of providing matches, to polishing flows with our mobile front-end.

We are looking for someone who understands the trade-offs between agility and quality, is excited to be a key member of a growing team, and will hustle to deliver in a high-stakes environment.

The ideal candidate has written and deployed his/her own apps and has a minimum of 2 years work experience as a software engineer at a reputable startup or tech company.

Objective-C and/or Swift Meteor. JS (powers the admin functions of our app) Any front-end JS framework, e.g. Bootstrap, Angular, Famous

Experienced with Git source control BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience A passion for pragmatic, fast and beautiful code An interest in leveraging technology to bring people together

$80,000 — $120,000/year
