The Requirements

  • Love programming

  • Possess either:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems plus 3 years experience

  • 5 Years of equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge in all of the following areas:

  • HTML5

  • CSS 3

  • MySQL / SQL

  • Version Control Systems

  • Git preferred

  • Linux (Command line knowledge such as BASH, ZSH, or FISH)

  • Javascript + jQuery

  • Knockout JS would be a huge bonus.

  • Command of object-oriented design principles

  • Ability to test cross browser compatibility is helpful

  • Ability to hear constructive criticism, assimilate feedback, and refine creative ideas to meet project specifications

  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented, agile software development environment

  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills

  • A desire and drive to stay current with emerging technologies and new innovations.

  • Friendly, confident, and patient with other people

  • Professional demeanor in stressful situations

  • Insurance knowledge

  • Working knowledge in the following areas:

  • Python

  • Go

  • Amazon Web Services

  • Docker

  • NoSQL or Non-relational database experience

  • MongoDB

  • Redis

  • CouchDB

  • Mac OS

  • Vim or Emacs and defend your choice (Just kidding.)

  • Puppet or, especially, Salt

  • ElasticSearch

  • NodeJS
