METER Group, Inc. USA is looking for a Software Engineer to join its METER Crops Division. The ideal candidate will have experience with and passion for creating, designing, and writing desktop and web application software. The METER Crops Division designs products used in agricultural applications across the globe.

Responsibilities:
Design, code, and debug desktop and web applications with minimal oversight and direction
Review new product requirements, provide feedback, and contribute to project planning activities
Work with remote partners to understand software needs for new product development and ongoing customer support
Troubleshoot customer problems and develop solutions
Work with hardware and firmware designers to optimize product functionality
Analyze requirements, define and prioritize tasks, and contribute to program management
Develop unit test and module simulation strategies for software validation
Participate in build and test automation and other efficiency improvement initiatives
Write documentation and requirements for QA to test deliverables
Contribute to and maintain design and user documentation
Maintain and update legacy code
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
3+ years of professional software development experience
Must have the legal right to work in the United States and be willing to relocate to Pullman, WA.
Experience with web front end software development in HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Experience with Windows/MacOS desktop and web application development environments
Proven track record of completing projects to specifications while dealing with challenges such as cross-team dependencies, changing schedules, and constantly evolving requirements
User interface development experience and ability to incorporate user feedback to improve software design and function
Experience with defect tracking tools
Experience with revision control systems (e.g., Subversion, Mercurial, Git, etc.)
Ability to respond to customer support requests in a timely and efficient manner
Self-starter who can get things done with minimal direction
Committed to producing high quality, well-designed software
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a strong set of software engineering skills
Background check results satisfactory to METER
At least three professional or academic references
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with wxPython or another similar GUI toolkit
Database design
System architecture design
Customer support experience
