Syscon Justice Systems is seeking a Developer to strengthen their R&D Operations department.
As a core member of the R&D Operations group, the Developer is entrusted to successfully deliver on key deliverables, such as requirements gathering, solutions design, documentation, quality assurance, and knowledge management. In addition to the timely and quality of software delivery for our clients, this role will also be responsible for providing process guidance and knowledge mentorship to all members in the organization.
Primary Functions
General
Developing, maintaining, and testing commercial applications and enhancements
Working with other technically skilled staff on a multi-disciplinary team
Working with a small, dedicated team on system architecture and high-level design
Independent low-level design and coding of core product features and functionality
Managing change control and product releases in conjunction with the QA team
Specific
Integrating new features using (mobile, web, kiosks, phone)
Integrating third-party hardware using third-party APIs and drivers
Maintaining product installers (InstallShield) across product versions
Integrating credit card gateways and Check21 (ICL) bank files into core application
Qualifications
Must have 5+ years developing commercial enterprise applications in Oracle Forms technology
Must have strong database design skills, Oracle Database and PL/SQL
Must be able to write efficient, complex queries against very large data sets.
Must have experience in both high-level (system) and low-level software design
Must be able to independently design and code add-on features to existing code base
Must have experience developing and maintaining publicly published APIs
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and use of MS Office
Prefer experience using AccuRev, PVCS, Git
Prefer experience using Jira, Salesforce
Prefer development experience with Java, C#
Prefer strong web development skills using ASP. NET, CSS and AJAX
Prefer experience in POS or other hardware integration using third-party APIs
