Along with your team you are responsible for optimizing the algorithms which powering our search results. Your Responsibilities:
Drive the search topic to the next level by optimizing the search experience for our users
Enrich our user experience with personalization and recommendation features
Work on the search algorithm by making use of the internal data and knowledge
Optimize the performance of our search engine according to business, seasonal and user behavior
Collaborate cross-departmentally (developers and conversion teams) to improve the search experience
Validate your features using A/B tests
Work in a flat hierarchy international team (our office language is English)
Agile development and modern project management following the Scrum approach
Our Requirements:
You build software not only at work, you are passionate about software and contribute to open source projects
Several years’ professional experience as a software developer or software engineer
Several years of experience working with the programming language Java
Knowledge in developing with Lucene and Solr
Deep technical understanding of ranking, scoring and search algorithms
Ideally you have knowledge and production experience of Ruby (Rails and Sinatra)
First experience with Machine Learning is a big plus
Proven ability to manage all technical requirements and work in an agile environment
Good command of English
