Piton Labs is announcing a full‑time opening for a Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across the entire stack, with a preference for candidates who are stronger on the backend. Strong experience with cloud infrastructure is required. Previous exposure to startups—either through personal projects or work with an early‑stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located within the GMT‑8 (US West Coast) to GMT‑3 time zones, though we may consider others on a case‑by‑case basis.

Responsibilities and technologies

At Piton Labs, you will work with both startups and large organizations to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the uncertainty and complexity inherent in software development, helping clients build their products and determine what truly needs to be built. Instead of checking off tasks from a predefined list, you’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the issues that matter most to our clients.

We’re not tied to any specific tech stack, but most client projects use Typescript, React, and Go. We commonly rely on AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a major web application development stack, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must also be able to consistently deliver reliable, well‑tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Creating and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

About the ideal candidate

You are independent and passionate about building software. You enjoy problem‑solving and continually improving your technical capabilities. Key qualities include:

• Practical: focused on solving problems and delivering value, with creativity when needed
• Self‑directed: you take ownership of products or features and understand both the technical and human aspects involved
• Deeply experienced: you have over five years of experience, have worked on a wide range of projects, and have refined your skills over time
• Adaptable: you evolve with technology and don’t limit yourself to a single specialty

Remote work policy

• Our team is fully remote and we do not maintain a physical office
• We prefer candidates based in the United States who have legal authorization to work
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• The role requires 4 to 6 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time
• We welcome digital nomads; your work location is flexible

Why work with us?

• Competitive salary: 140,000 USD for US‑based candidates
• Substantial quarterly bonuses tied to company profits, typically between 2,500 and 5,000 USD
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Fully remote work
• Strong work‑life balance—you’ll work with fast‑moving startups without sacrificing your weekends
• A flexible, low‑meeting, low‑synchronization culture with high trust in your ability to deliver
