About the team

We are a small distributed engineering team where the team members have freedom to make decisions and influence product development in order to gain the best outcome. We work in close cooperation with business and other development teams and prefer commons sense over strictly defined process. As an engineering team member you are expected to be independent enough to make decisions and take responsibility for them.

Work responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code

  • *

Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic

  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems

  • *

Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization

  • Review all aspects of system design and architecture to recommend improvements for system operation.

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as RSpec and Resque

  • *

Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming

  • *

Familiarity with 3rd party API integrations

  • Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors such as Sass

  • *

Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful

  • *

Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

  • Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests

  • *

Proficient understanding of GIT

  • Familiarity with continuous integration

Bonus skills

  • Experience in Cloud platforms (AWS)

  • *

Messaging and queuing experience

  • Nodejs experience
