As the Site Lead for the Chef Belfast Office, you will initially lead a partner engineering team responsible for designing and building the right product integrations with our Ecosystem partners. These range from the major hyperscale clouds like AWS, Microsoft sand Google to a wide range of enterprise software vendors. You will have significant impact to the future of Chef. Integration with our ecosystem partners is key to the successful adoption of Chef within an enterprise.
As a leader, you will have significant latitude for independent judgment and decision making. Your day will consist of keeping the team’s focus on the right outcomes by removing obstacles and creating avenues for success. You will be interacting with the entire company as well as our partners, customers, and the community at large; communication plays an important part of your day to day. Your audience is very, diverse; You must be a clear thinker and effective speaker who is good at influencing others.
You will be responsible for:
- Execution of the product vision
- Accountable for the initiatives in the roadmap
- Providing context and communicating direction and strategy to the team
- Growing and managing engineering teams
As a Chef People Manager, you will manage several teams comprised of members who come from a varied set of experiences, but we all have a love and curiosity of the plumbing, software-based and otherwise, that makes the world tick. This Site Lead will also act as the point person for the entire team in Belfast both internally and externally.
Your direct reports will be Engineering Leads and IC Engineers. As their people manager, you are responsible for the following:
- Coaching your team and counseling those who need it
- Providing feedback and guidance on staff’s performance
- Actively developing, empowering, and motivating staff and managing under performers
- Working with staff to set clear and unambiguous objectives for the team as well as individuals
- Guiding employees through the Chef career tracks
- Recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new Chef employees
Our team at Chef is distributed across many regions and we live and communicate in a vibrant world of text and video chat and peer review. You will also be spending time with our customers and partners in a pre-sales and post-sales capacity. You must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time to lead key discussions on Chef and Partner Integrations.
