We’re seeking a Freelance Content Writer to join our editorial team and help grow our website with new blog posts, guides, and marketing copy.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience in digital publishing and in driving traffic and leads for new businesses. Please include samples of your work (portfolio or links to published articles) with your application. We won’t contact applicants who don’t provide samples.
In the end, you’ll help us reach our target audience by providing informative and engaging online content about our company and product: GemPages.
What you’ll do
- Write SEO blog posts using outlines provided by our in-house team (long-form content)
- Optimize content using SEO best practices
- Proofread and edit blog posts based on feedback from the in-house team
- Maintain overall consistency, including style, fonts, images, and tone
- Perform basic keyword research and follow SEO guidelines to increase web traffic
What you have
- A Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong research skills and the ability to write clear, easy-to-understand content
- Proven experience as a freelance content writer for technology products
- At least 1 year of SEO blog writing related to eCommerce, Shopify, and SaaS
- Excellent English writing skills (equivalent to an IELTS writing score of 7.0+)
- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and keyword research
- A strong attention to detail, grammar, and accuracy
- A big advantage if you’ve used Shopify, have eCommerce knowledge, and/or experience with page builders (WordPress), plus graphic design experience (infographics)
