– Do you get excited about automating your way to profit?
– Is learning new things as addictive as “crack” to you?
– Do you thrive in a high-stress workplace packed with politics, bureaucracy, and corporate nonsense?
If so, you may be exactly who we’re looking for—although you might hate how nice our company is: it’s full of happy, generally capable people who don’t tolerate bullies. Honestly, it disgusts me how pleasant everyone is.
We’re remote full-time with flexible hours. People are evaluated by results, not by how much they brown-nose the boss, and turnover is extremely low because we believe that happy employees lead to happy customers—and a healthier bank account. It’s practically offensive.
–Is this a real job posting?–
Yes! Believe it or not, we actually paid money to post this across multiple job sites. And no, it’s not a pyramid scheme. Also, here’s something wild: the owner recently started paying our roughly 60 employees with real money instead of Pizza Hut coupons. We’re big leagues, folks.
Our careers page is worth checking out to learn more about how “insane” we are (side note: it won a web design award in 1993—so, yes, we’re a big deal):
And take a look at our reviews on Google, Glassdoor, and Indeed to see that it’s not only the founder’s mom saying we’re great.
–So what do you do?–
We do all kinds of things these days, including selling awesome consumer products (just a small sample):
– Bad Parking Cards (https://amz.run/5Eya)
– Beverage Barricades (https://amz.run/6kip)
– Child Chucker (https://amz.run/9EUz)
We also run an Amazon Pay-Per-Click agency: https://www.ppcfarm.com (we’re seriously, really good at PPC).
And soon, we’ll be launching a SaaS product for inventory management.
We’re working hard to grow rapidly each year, and we want to keep that going as long as possible—which means we need great people to help us keep up.
–What’s your company like?–
1. Be yourself. No fake corporate persona required. Talk freely—even to the CEO (highly encouraged). No forced professionalism, no dressing up, no pretending—just you.
2. Real opportunities for growth. We’re not trying to stay small. Our goal is to reach $100 million annually within the next few years. Once we recognize talent, we promote quickly. Your credentials matter less than what you deliver.
3. Full-time remote and flexible hours. Work from home—wear what you want. We don’t care whether you do 10-hour days four times a week or 6-hour days with catch-up over the weekend—as long as you get a lot done.
4. Strong work/life balance. If you’re consistently working more than about 45 hours, expect a friendly conversation. We want you operating at full capacity—which includes getting rest.
5. Strongly anti-BS. Anyone in the company can—and should—tell the CEO when they’re wrong. There aren’t layers of bureaucracy or nonsense slowing down good work.
6. Minimal micromanagement. After training and once you’ve shown you can handle things, we’re hands-off. If you need someone constantly managing you to stay motivated, we may not be the right fit.
7. No toxic or incompetent people. We work hard to filter out rude or clueless people before hiring them, but if any slip through, we move fast to remove them. You should never have to deal with obvious idiots or outright malicious behavior.
8. Supportive environment. We don’t run on intense stress or unrealistic top-down deadlines. Everyone wants you to succeed, with very little internal politics.
9. Lots of raises. We try to get ahead of things and grant raises proactively, so you don’t have to ask. Getting 2+ raises per year isn’t unusual.
10. We invest in your training. We want you improving constantly. You’ll keep learning new things, and we strongly encourage you to spend time each day learning, improving your processes, and making your work and life easier.
11. 4–6+ weeks of vacation. We want you to recharge—time off is absolutely part of the deal.
12. Paid parental leave. We even started letting people skip meetings during parental leave.
13. Self-funded, so we can do what’s right. We don’t have to answer to anyone but ourselves, so we can make long-term decisions that benefit the company—without rushing growth or cutting corners to please self-serving investors.
–What are your company values?–
See here: http://www.jlstradingco.com/careers/
Yes, those are genuinely our values. The careers page is absolutely worth reading—it’s not typical corporate fluff. We think you’ll learn a lot about us.
–Okay, I read a ton about you. What’s the actual job?–
No.
–What?–
Fine—here’s the short version:
Grow our Search Engine Optimization operation (currently run mostly on autopilot) so we make more money.
We have decent on-page SEO and a reasonable content production system, but there’s no backlink strategy yet. Those areas could definitely improve, and we’re not doing SEO for our other sites.
In short: there’s a lot of opportunity to grow traffic through SEO.
Key responsibilities include:
– Learn everything we can teach you about SEO
– Learn even more by exploring online resources (we’ll pay for courses/coaching)
– Apply what you learn
– Figure out how to systematize and automate much of your work so we can roll out strategies across all our branded sites
Like everyone else here, you’ll also need to innovate regularly—meaning finding ways to improve both quality and speed of production.
This is challenging, but fun work, and it will require strong time/task management, problem-solving, and a reasonable amount of people skills.
–Do I need experience?–
We expect a minimum of 70 years of experience (120+ preferred).
And no—you don’t actually need any experience. We want special people, and we don’t care much about their background. Many of our best employees came in with no direct connection to their current roles, so if you’ve never done anything like this, don’t stress. We hire for potential far more than existing knowledge.
However, the Big Bang requirement still stands.
–What if I already have SEO experience?–
That’s great—we’d love to have you. It’s not required, but if you’re a pro, we’d definitely want to put your skills to work.
–I’ve never done SEO before. Is this still for me?–
We’ll teach you everything we know, and we’ll also pay for you to learn more.
This is a highly technical role. You’ll work on the backend of websites, deal with AI automations, and also handle backlink outreach—meaning finding ways for us to earn links from other sites.
There’s plenty of room for creative problem-solving. If you need constant human interaction to be happy, this probably won’t fit—but if you’re a tech-minded person who enjoys finding creative ways to increase traffic, you may love it.
–Do I need a college degree?–
No—you just need to be awesome.
–Any location restrictions?–
As long as you live in a country that isn’t under active US government sanctions, we’re interested. Our founder isn’t famous for respecting government rules, but they do have the necessary resources…
–Do you do anything “black hat”?–
No, and we wouldn’t want to.
–This sounds promising, but I’m still not sure it isn’t a pyramid scheme.–
You sound like the tax authorities!
–That doesn’t ease my concerns. What do I do to apply?–
Submit your information on the page below. We promise to get back to you within 5–10 business days—even if the answer is no.
There will be multiple steps, including a longer written application, interviews with possibly several people, and paid work tests. Hiring the right people is difficult and costly if it’s done poorly, so we have to front-load the process. Sorry for that—and thank you for sticking with it.
Once you’re in our pipeline, we expect to give you a final answer within a few weeks, depending on how things go. We won’t drag things out, and as long as you do what we ask, we’ll tell you “yes” or “no” (we won’t ghost you like some people do on Tinder).
Thanks for your time and interest—we hope we can work together soon!
$20,000 — $70,000/year
