We launched Edgar (https://meetedgar.com) less then 10 months ago and we’ve already grown to 2k+ paying users. We’re growing crazy fast (30% month on month) we need you to take Edgar to the next level. We have a strong customer base that is dying to get their hands on what you’re making – you will not be building something that no one will ever use, or that will be “pivoted” to an unrecognizable death.
We do not have a fancy espresso machine or free beer on Fridays. We will pay you enough to be able to buy all the beer and espresso you like. And your title will be developer, not ninja. (But if you actually are a real ninja, we’re not gonna lie – bonus.)
We’re a virtual company distributed across the US, you’ll be working from your own home wherever you are.
About The Role
You’ll be joining us as a senior backend developer, working full time on Edgar (https://meetedgar.com), a Ruby on Rails 4 project. Our dev team is small, so you’ll have full responsibility for the features you implement. There is a dedicated front-end developer on the team, so you’ll be mostly focused on backend (maybe 85%). As per usual, we’re into lean and agile development, love Trello, love code reviews. We’re looking for someone who can lead themselves with minimal overhead, who takes ownership and who codes with users in mind. You’ve got to care a lot about Ruby and Rails and know in your heart what beautiful code is.
This is a full-time position, with health insurance and 401k starting 3 months after you begin.
About You
You have been a Rails dev for at least 3 years.
Skills/experience you must have:
- Lead / senior developer experience
- Agile / Scrum development
- Rspec
- Git
- Heroku
- Sidekiq / Other (delayed job, etc.)
Bonus stuff:
- Experience with 3rd party APIs like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stripe
