Mystery Applicant is looking for a Senior Rails Developer to join our technical team. We might be small but we are agile and leaders in candidate experience measurement. What does this mean? Well, we provide analytics to some of the world’s largest and most well known employers. We are growing and have some exciting product enhancements to bring to market. That’s where you come in.
Responsibilities:
- Advocate for best practices, great usability and exceptional quality
- Write well-tested, maintainable code
- Maintain design, user experience and brand requirements throughout the development process
- Collaborate with a team of designers and developers to build new features and extend existing functionality
The Nuts and Bolts (our offer):
- Competitive salary (we all know the market rates but rather than set a fixed salary we want to be flexible and focus on engaging the right person. If we like you and you like us we will provide you with a rewarding salary package)
- Tech budget (you have your own preferences and you want the best tools for the job – so we let you decide the tech you want)
- 1 conference funded per year
- 5 weeks holiday + bank holidays + time in lieu.
- Central Bath office-based, remote considered.
- Start date ideally Feb 2016. 3 month probation, 1 month notice, salary paid monthly in arrears.
Here are some qualities of the people we think would do well in this position:
- Resourceful – if you don’t know how to do something then you know where to look and what you need to ask in order to figure it out.
- Assiduous – you’re able to get your head down, stay focused and produce work that you can be proud of.
- Curious – you want to understand why things are done the way they are and you aren’t afraid to ask questions.
- Considerate – other people will be working with your code and it’s important that they can figure it out without trawling through commit messages.
Things you probably want to know about us:
- We care about the quality of our code and aim to follow best practices in system design and operations.
- Our favorite collaboration tools include GitHub and Slack, with documentation in Confluence.
- We’re a small team, which means that decisions are made quickly and everyone gets to have their say.
- We are ambitious and customer focused.
This is a great opportunity to join our team and make your mark. If you’re interested then send us an email, ideally with links to some of your code (including test code), and we’ll set up a time to chat.
No agencies please.
