What You’ll Be Doing:
Developing and maintaining excellent codebases for TechOps, and the company as a whole.

Participating in code reviews and architecture audits where required.
Collaborating with other business units (Engineering, QA, etc.) to improve cross-functional code.

What You Should Have:
5+ years of work as an Operations focused software engineer
*
5+ years of expertise in Python (beyond scripting experience, must have be able to write code for development to support DevOps)
Experience with CI (Jenkins) and deployment strategies.

Deep understanding of Linux operating systems and internals.
Firm grasp on a variety of storage systems/architectures (traditional, object-based, etc.).
*
Focus on excellence and sustainable programming.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Bonus Points
Exposure to working at a technology/software startup.

Familiarity with configuration management and automation software (Ansible preferred).
Understanding of the Java JVM and servlet containers (Tomcat preferred).
*
Experience provisioning and maintaining large scale services and environments.
Local enough to commute to San Mateo office. 2 days remote a week is an option.
