We are seeking a:

Senior Product Manager for the SUSE Container as a Service (CaaS) Platform, Focus GPU Computing and Machine Learning.

This is a dynamic and strategic cross-functional role on the SUSE Product Management Team requiring a strong mix of market, technology and business knowledge. Reporting into the Director of Product Management Linux, you will focus on the integrating capabilities for Machine Learning to the platform, work with partners on defining interfaces on the hardware and software level, and help our customers accelerate their journey into Digital Transformation. You will analyze emerging workloads, anticipate customer demands and business problems, track hardware enhancements, establish your expertise and vision, and create a roadmap that will help SUSE deliver the solutions for next generation workloads.

Our team seeks a strong, self driven, and experienced Senior Product Manager who excels in strategic planning, innovative thinking, teamwork, and the ability to influence effectively.

You will work closely with the Product Management and Engineering teams covering the OS platform, High Performance Computing, Containers and Orchestration, as well as Alliances and Marketing. Along with this strategic view you will drive alignment with key ecosystem partners and adoption with lighthouse accounts. This role requires a person who is comfortable pitching the SUSE value to customers, partners and analysts regarding how containers will improve and accelerate value to the customers.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will

• Serve as strong advocate for customers, as well as technology and channel partners of your products in order to build complete solution and service offerings

• Help defining and communicating product roadmaps

• Work closely with technology partners

• Work closely with sales, marketing and business development teams to launch products and drive customer adoption

• Relate to geeks as well as suits. Being comfortable with both techies and business executives, you will be able to build rapport and communicate effectively and at the right level with either group.

• Have the right blend of diplomacy and decisiveness to constantly balance constraints and resources, as well as juggle priorities and tasks. Cost, time, features – you know the triangle.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of practical Product Management experience involving actual ownership of products and key solution components

• Masters degree or equivalent experience.

• Able to demonstrate a combination of formal business training and good technical understanding across relevant areas

• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, GPU computing

• Strong communications, presentation and interpersonal skills in all settings and across cultures This will includeface to face, phone, IM, video link or in front of large audiences

• Self motivated. Ability to work independently and as a team member

Preferred skills:

• Solid understanding of Open Source business models

• Solid understanding of the opportunities and challenges of Container Technology

• Familiarity with Linux and/or other UNIX like operating systems

• Strong financial skills, including forecasting and trend analysis

• Strong market strategy and marketing skills
