The Platform Design team is dedicated to driving innovation through design. We create a world-class platform and develop inclusive solutions that support a wide range of users within the Spotify ecosystem and beyond. We advocate for design excellence across the Platform mission, working with teams to enhance the quality and impact of our products and services.

In this role, you will guide the design of end-to-end services and tools that support developers using the Spotify Platform. You will promote high design standards and work closely with business partners, product managers, designers, researchers, and engineers to broaden Spotify’s platform capabilities for a diverse developer community, from solo creators to large development teams.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure design quality, consistency, and standards across complex user journeys for the studio.
• Define and shape the problem space and strategy for others, exploring multiple options before arriving at a clear perspective and recommendation.
• Support ideas with strong reasoning and data or insights, tailoring communication to different audiences.
• Create strategy briefs, overview presentations, and clear, well-structured flows and specifications.
• Collaborate with product and engineering partners to co-develop strategic direction, planning, and capacity mapping.
• Represent design effectively in product ceremonies, partner meetings, and larger gatherings such as studio-wide All Hands.
• Organise information in a way that helps users focus on key tasks while giving them the context they need.
• Balance the needs of multiple audiences, including listeners, creators, and internal teams.
• Independently conduct low-risk rapid research and usability testing to validate assumptions, refine designs, and enhance experiences.
• Work with Data Scientists to identify key questions and challenge or influence their understanding of the problem.
• Deliver design impact across multiple surfaces through close collaboration with peers across the company to continuously improve shared experiences.
• Advance major studio initiatives from a design standpoint, partnering with leaders across the team and the wider Spotify organisation.
• Approach projects holistically, consistently delivering solutions that enhance product or service clarity, simplicity, and ease of use.
• Mentor, support, and guide designers within the studio, and collaborate with partners on product design, user experience, and design strategy.

Where You’ll Be

• This role is located in London or Stockholm.
• We offer flexibility to work where you’re most effective. While some in-person meetings will be required, you will still have the option to work from home.
