We can only do this with exceptional system architecture, built and maintained by the brightest system engineers in the world. Our purpose is to use technology to make the world a better place and to build new products and services that are useful, powered by our Mailcloud back end.

Our ideal Developer will exhibit a strong passion for building system architecture.

In particular, knowledge and experience of;

As a ‘Global startup’ with teams in 3 countries, we’re building a communication service of the future and need talented engineers to help us. It’s a fantastic opportunity to use your skills, develop new ones and work with the best engineers in the world – most of whom have worked at places like Cable & Wireless, Vodafone, and IBM and came to Mailcloud rather than move to Microsoft or Google.

We already have engineers of 5 different nationalities, of a team of 11, from Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic, Zimbabwe and the UK. Most of the team already here started building things as children, using Lego, working on Amiga or Commodore machines, writing in Basic, animating in Coral Suite 1.0 or using dial-up to build websites on Geocities (with animated backgrounds). We’re backed by the best venture capital investors in the US and Europe, raising $2,8ml by Seed Round from Octopus Investment and Bessemer Venture partners (they’re first seed round in Europe ever) with investment also from super angels who founded companies like Skyscanner, Deezer, Iliad, Free or head Facebook’s European platform or are partners at VC funds like Advent.

Where are we?

We have an ‘easy to get to’ office in Farringdon, Central London. We also have 2 engineers who work remotely from Gothenburg, Sweden so if you want to work remotely, let’s talk about that. In the office, we have an Xbox One, a well-stocked fridge with Cokes, Diet Cokes, Orange Juice, Oreos, KitKats, RedBull, water and fruit bars. It’s not quite Google in size, but we have the same spirit. We also have a lovely outdoor terrace (sunshine not always provided).

Every month, we try and get in folks from places like Facebook, Google, Microsoft to share with us their careers, what they’ve learnt and insights from their industry. It’s very interesting. Compensation is dependant on ability. We have a share option scheme that is used to incentivise performance.
