The Senior Linux Engineer will design, deploy and manage our infrastructure as we migrate away from a Windows platform by standardizing our use of Linux variants. The ideal candidate will bring a track record of successes from a fast paced, rapidly scaling environment implementing Linux. Key Duties &Responsibilities:
Supervise the production systems and applications running various Linux distributions.
Manage Linux security solutions (Kerberos, LDAP, Active Directory integration)
Oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (such as Nagios, Zenoss, Ganglia, Splunk, etc)
Be the point person on package repository management.
Management of the cloud based Linux infrastructure in Amazon EC2
Lead and support system/application performance and stability issues as they arise
Collaborate with the development team to architect future technology.
Actively participate in on-call rotation to support systems 24×7
Other duties as assigned
Required Experience & Qualifications:
8+ years system operations of multi-platform operating systems and technologies
6+ years support Linux system and applications in a large and rapidly growing environment
Proven experience with administering LAMP/LAPP environments
Advanced knowledge of system scripting using ruby, python, perl, or shell scripts (i.e. with Puppet, Chef, CFEngine or other sys admin tools)
Experience with automated deployment methods and version control systems
Good analytical skills.
Good written and oral communication skills
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Management of data platforms running on Linux variants (GreenPlum, Hadoop, Postgres, NoSQL, RabbitMQ, etc)
Knowledge of provisioning/managing of disks/LUNs and SAN/NAS systems
Knowledge of provisioning tools.
