We are seeking a senior full-stack engineer to elevate our application architecture and performance to the next level. Achieving a smooth (60 fps) spinner-free mobile experience is a top priority for us. Realizing this level of user experience is uniquely challenging in our environment. In addition to the typical requirements of an e-commerce web application with 1m monthly unique users, our customers can upload hundreds of photos, which are instantly rendered in realistic previews for hundreds of products, all while providing seamless editing capabilities. The complexity of these projects (e.g., 200-page photo book with several photos and text blocks per page) further stresses our back-end infrastructure. Overcoming these challenges requires broad software engineering knowledge and continuous creative problem solving.

In this role, you will be chiefly responsible for optimizing performance across all layers of our technology stack. This is likely to entail restructuring key components like our build system and REST API. Experience with advanced web application engineering and an ability to operate in a highly autonomous environment are essential.
