We are developing aviation safety technologies designed to save lives. Automated flight systems will support a future in which air travel is safer, more efficient, and transformative in how goods—and eventually people—move around the world. Our team is composed of mission‑driven engineers with backgrounds in aerospace, robotics, and autonomous vehicles, all working to bring this future to life.

As an FPGA Verification Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will join the Embedded Systems team, which oversees the full lifecycle of the firmware and software platform at the core of the company’s autonomy system. We deliver robust computing, networking, signal processing, and motor‑control capabilities that power our aircraft. Your work will directly support critical equipment and aircraft demonstrations, enable advanced system features, and help prepare products for certification and market release.

Responsibilities
In the Senior FPGA Verification Engineer role, you will lead the FPGA integration and testing environment for multiple airborne systems, including test benches, simulation, continuous integration, timing and elemental analysis, and build processes. You will establish DO‑254‑compliant review and testing procedures, qualify key design and verification tools, and implement effective product verification strategies. Your efforts will be central to producing safe, reliable airborne electronic hardware at Reliable Robotics.

Basic Success Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or comparable experience
• More than 5 years of professional electronics hardware development across the full lifecycle
• Proficiency in FPGA digital logic design using standard design, simulation, and synthesis tools
• Strong organizational and analytical skills

Preferred Success Criteria
• Advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
• Background in safety‑critical FPGA verification (DO‑254 level A/B or similar)
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, iterative development environment
• Practical, results‑focused approach

FPGA engineers at Reliable Robotics work within a fully integrated technology stack that connects directly to aircraft‑level capabilities and requirements. They play a key role in shaping the foundation of the company’s long‑term technical roadmap, free from shifting business or customer demands. We welcome your expertise, drive, and enthusiasm—we’re excited to see the impact you will make.

This role requires up to 25% travel.

The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000. Reliable Robotics provides competitive compensation reflecting experience, skills, market factors, location, and pay‑equity considerations. Additional benefits include stock options, medical coverage, a 401(k) contribution, supportive colleagues, and a relaxed work environment.

This role involves access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Employment offers depend on the applicant’s ability to comply with U.S. export‑control regulations.

All candidates must provide documentation establishing whether they are a U.S. person or a non‑U.S. person (including specific nationalities for non‑U.S. persons). If an applicant is not a U.S. person—defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. §1157, asylee under 8 U.S.C. §1158, or otherwise authorized to access export‑controlled technology—the company may choose not to pursue an export license and may discontinue the application or hiring process.
