We’re looking for a Senior Devops Engineer to help us automate and scale CompanyCam as we continue to grow. This is an important role and you will work directly with the CTO.
Responsibilities
Our infrastructure has evolved over the years but has been managed by a single developer without much experience being a sysadmin. After several iterations we have a semi-automated system in place to fire up new infrastructure but it is far from perfect. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in taking our existing infrastructure and evolving it to the next step. You will be responsible for monitoring and responding to service disruptions as well as working with the development team to proactively improve performance.
What you’ll be working with
Our infrastructure is made up of a handful of web and worker servers hosted in AWS running Ubuntu and provisioned with Ansible. We make use of several AWS services such as ElasticCache, RDS, Elasticsearch, and Lambda. Our stack consists of Rails, Nginx, Puma, Postgres, PGBouncer, Mongo, and Kafka.
Requirements
- 4+ years as a sysadmin minimum
- Proven track-record automating and scaling systems
- Prior experience managing databases, backups and replication
- Knowledge of security issues and mitigation techniques
- Enjoys teaching others
