We are a fully-funded stealth-startup with a functional alpha Python/Django application; we are tuning and building our production version as a robust, scalable, highly-available platform.

We are hiring hands-on Senior Backend Developer experts in the following categories:

  • DevOps-centric: AWS + Docker

  • Performance: Databasequery tuning experts and application profiling

  • QA: Testing engineers, load testing bots, integration tests and/or "fuzzing"

  • Security: Hardening, in-house pen testing, establishing and enforcing protocols

You’ll be taking initiative on optimizing our platform, buildingnew features for our users, support tools for our staff, and management tools for our sysadmins, as we move from our functional alpha product to a scalable, performant production platform.

To be successful in this role, you’ll:

  • Be an expert in Python andDjango, as well as most of the following supporting languages, technologies and frameworks: Django-Rest-Framework, Celery, Docker, PostgreSQL, Amazon EC2 + ECS.

  • Behighly skilledin SQL, Linuxcommand line and git.

  • Be familiar with modern frontend development practices including React, Redux and Sagas (our frontend engineers build all customer-facing pages, but youmay need to implement some admin tools)

  • Be confident communicating withtechnical peers tobuild clearly defined requirements and convert these into robust technical architecture.

  • Be experienced in producing high-quality technical specifications, documentation and accurately estimating the time required for the build.

  • Be confident in providing tests to support code, contributing to testing strategies and providing high-quality user training documentation.

  • Have experience producing high-quality code to budget, demonstrating commercial awareness.

  • Have the ability to operate independently as technical lead on small projects.

  • Be confident contributing to proposals and pitching successfully.

As well as the technical knowledge, you’ll also:

  • Remain up to date with state-of-the-art developments in your software field and share your knowledge with the wider team.

  • Be confident keeping projects on track through strong personal project management skills, collaboration and supporting other team members.

  • Support colleagues (teaching, coaching, line managing, mentoring, reviewing and improving code).
