General Summary:
Wayside Technology Group, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Senior Applications Developer position. In this position you would work within the IT Development Team designing, developing and maintaining all applications systems within the Company. As a Senior Application Developer you will be involved in the more challenging or domain-specific projects having both the experience and instincts to move rapidly. Candidates for this position will need to be ready for the most cutting edge technology as well as transaction processing and complex database interaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Developing new architecture and maintains existing architecture of Application Systems
Integrates pre-build products into the Company’s network, working closely with third-party vendor technical support
Communicating with outside vendors with questions regarding API’s of third-party products
Having significant responsibility for architecture design decisions — a confident decision maker who can make decisions on their own while establishing and meeting timelines
Contributing creative technical ideas at weekly scheduled meetings regarding the development of software modules
Contributing constructive ideas as well as constructive criticism at bi-weekly peer code reviews
Developing Requirement documents, Code Specification documents for planned software modules
Responsibility for performance tuning and optimization
