The National Football League is looking for passionate and experienced app developers to join our Android team.

The apps we build are used by millions of fans every week, and we take great pride in our work. This means progressive development practices, a focus on craftsmanship, and a culture built around rapid releases.

You’ll be a member of tight-knit team of Android engineers in our office on the west side of Los Angeles. You’ll work closely with both designers and platform engineers to bring new features to life. Every member of the team possesses a strong level of ownership over what they build and is a part of the entire process, from ideation to final delivery.

We ship every week, enabled by continuous integration and automated testing. Our beta release process quickly puts new ideas into the hands of our fans and a combination of analytics, feature flagging, and in-person testing allows us to iterate rapidly.

We’re craftspeople passionate about providing the best experience for our fans. We value close attention to detail and code designed to face constant iteration and collaboration. Each line of code is reviewed by other developers, every pixel inspected by designers, and every feature put to the test with manual and automated QA.

Our codebase is written in Java ( transitioning to Kotlin ) using modern design patterns and coding standards. We rely on open source libraries – like RxJava Dagger2 and Retrofit – and contribute back to the community. We’re serious about building an innovative engineering culture, crafting apps our fans love.

Responsibilities

  • Build new, exciting features and release to millions of football fans on Android

  • Collaborate with our product and design teams to iterate based on user feedback

  • Architect large parts of the codebase to support rapid iteration and collaboration

  • Collaborate with platform engineers on API design, serialization, and optimization

  • Write and maintain unit tests for the Android codebase

  • Keep up to date with the state-of-the-art of Android development
