Greenlight is a leading family fintech company dedicated to helping parents raise financially savvy kids. We proudly support more than 6 million parents and children with our award-winning family banking app. With Greenlight, parents can automate allowances, manage chores, set flexible spending controls, and invest in their family’s future. Kids and teens learn to earn, save, spend wisely, and invest.

At Greenlight, we believe every child should have the chance to grow into a financially healthy and happy person. That’s why we get up every morning and show up to work. Building a better, brighter future for the next generation depends on it.

Greenlight’s internship is a paid program for current college students. During the internship, you’ll work on meaningful projects and bring your fresh perspective to improve our product and better serve families. We encourage you to leave your mark as you develop professionally, expand your network, learn new skills, and fully embrace the Greenlight mission: to help families build financial strength, protect what matters most, and stay deeply connected—so they can thrive at every stage of life.

We’re seeking a **Security Intern** to join Greenlight’s Security team. In this role, you’ll serve as an active security defender, a careful auditor, and a collaborative problem-solver. You won’t just follow checklists or scan code—you’ll help develop secure processes and ensure compliance that safeguards our applications and informs key security decisions.

This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about cybersecurity, motivated to tackle complex security challenges, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and some ambiguity. You’ll partner closely with our Product Security and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to evaluate security risks, support vulnerability management, and help develop security policies. Strong teamwork is essential.

**What you will do:**
– Apply security principles and coursework in a real application security environment
– Analyze security tool data (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SAST/DAST) to prepare information related to application risk
– Work with the security team to perform analyses that support risk-based decisions for application security posture
– Display application security and compliance results in interactive dashboards for security and engineering leaders
– Help document security controls, risks, and compliance requirements to improve organizational understanding and adherence
– Test and validate security governance and compliance data to ensure high data quality and consistent reporting on risk and control status
– Conduct exploratory analysis of security events, vulnerabilities, and control metrics to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies related to risk and compliance
– Communicate with stakeholders by presenting findings and security recommendations to application owners and governance groups to drive remediation and compliance progress

**What you should bring:**
– A 3.0 GPA or higher
– Strong knowledge of cybersecurity risks and principles, system controls, and/or computing
– Experience with Python, SQL, or Java is a plus
– Ability to thrive in a high-energy, entrepreneurial environment with changing priorities
– Comfort working with ambiguity, making assumptions, and drawing conclusions
– Strong communication skills
– Local residence in the Atlanta area for the summer of 2026
– A desire to support our mission to highlight the world of money for kids, teens, and families
– Willingness to learn and adapt as needed
– Strong attention to detail
– Excitement about Greenlight and interest in learning about the fintech industry

**Learning opportunities:**
– Hands-on experience using real security tools and vulnerability data (SAST/DAST) to assess application risk
– Build data analysis and visualization skills by turning security insights into dashboards for engineering and security leaders
– Collaborate with Product Security and GRC teams to influence real security decisions, policies, and risk remediation in a live fintech environment

**Who we are:**
A mission unlike any other takes a special kind of team. We’re looking for people who enjoy working together because they understand it makes us stronger—people who look to others and ask, “How can I help?” and then “How can we make this even better?” If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and help create a world where every child grows up happy and healthy in money and life, we’d love to hear from you.
