Right now, we are looking to add a talented Ruby Engineer with a deep understanding of Rails and real passion for open source development to collaborate within our small, but globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the integration between the Ruby on Rails platform and the Elastic stack. This includes:

• Maintaining the official libraries for the Rails integration

• Collaborating on the official Ruby client library

• Expanding the features of the libraries and exploring innovative use cases

• Responding to users at GitHub or forums and processing pull requests from the community

• Sharing the knowledge by building example applications, writing articles for the company blog, or presenting at conferences and meetups

Requirements

• You have extensive experience with the Ruby programming language and the Ruby on Rails framework

• You are able to set goals and work independently in a distributed environment

• You can communicate effectively and clearly in writing

• You have experience with Elasticsearch from a developer point of view

• You are passionate about open source development

• If you have created a RubyGem, maintain an open source software project, or have contributed to Ruby on Rails or another open source project, we see it is an advantage
