Ruby on Rails Engineer Needed for Rapid Growth EduTech Startup

Primary Responsibilities

• Design & development of Ruby on Rails applications

• Involvement in developing and improving all aspects of our applications (development, testing, deployment, architecture)

• Writing unit, acceptance, and integration tests.

• Providing technical support of applications (to both internal and external users)

Experience

• 2+ years of experience creating applications in Ruby on Rails

• 2+ years of experience working with at least one of the following: PostgreSQL/mySQL/sqlite

• Experience working with front-end web technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Self-directed and able to manage your time effectively

Bonus points for…

• Experience optimizing and scaling rails apps

• Experience with Amazon AWS and/or Heroku

• Experience writing or working with complex SQL

• Previous history of working with a remote, distributed team
