At Underdog.io, we’re building a curated marketplace for talent. We shine a spotlight on talented individuals, giving them the opportunity to have companies apply directly to them. In our view of the future, job search is organized, talented candidates have more high-quality options, and companies don’t pay placement fees for the vast majority of their hires.

We’re a fun, five-person, remote-friendly team, proudly bootstrapped and profitable. We open source.

A few months back, we acquired https://sourcing.io from Alex MacCaw. Alex built https://sourcing.io back in 2014, but then went on to raise money for Clearbit. We’ve since cleaned up the dataset, rewritten scripts, and made vast UI improvements. https://sourcing.io is a Sinatra application running on Heroku.

You

You’re a T-shaped Ruby Engineer.

You care deeply about open-source technology. You’re a GitHub expert and a stickler for writing tests and keeping good documentation. You have strong communication skills and experience working on a data product.

You live somewhere in the US or Canada. You care deeply about what you put out into the world. You’re not a jerk. =)

You will spend a majority of your time owning the https://sourcing.io codebase. Underdog.io is written in Python and JavaScript, so you’ll have an opportunity to work with those languages as well, but we expect you to be our Ruby expert.
