POSITION TITLE: Community Health Epidemiologist
LOCATION: Hybrid
POSITION END DATE: 6/30/2026
SALARY: $80,000 (plus benefits)

SUMMARY
The CDC Foundation is seeking a Community Health Epidemiologist to assist the Office of Statistics and Evaluation (OSE) within the Bureau of Community Health & Prevention (BCHAP) at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The role provides epidemiologic support to the Community Health Equity Initiative (CHEI) and programs within the Division of Community-based Prevention and Care (DCBPC). The position works closely with program and epidemiology staff across CHEI, the Office of Oral Health, and other DCBPC programs to address needs related to data, surveillance, and evaluation. Key duties include conducting literature reviews, helping develop surveys, analyzing clinical and population-level surveillance data, supporting program evaluations, preparing reports and data communication materials, assisting with grant deliverables, and providing additional support as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• MPH in epidemiology or biostatistics
• At least two years of relevant epidemiologic or related experience
• Strong knowledge of epidemiologic study design and statistical methods
• Proficiency in SAS and/or R for data analysis
• Experience designing surveys and collecting data
• Experience planning and conducting program evaluations
• Experience creating and maintaining Tableau dashboards
• Knowledge of statistical techniques such as multivariate linear and logistic regression
• Experience collecting public health program data and developing data collection tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and process-oriented
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supporting primary data collection, including survey design, administration, database management, and data cleaning
• Developing and updating Tableau dashboards to support program objectives
• Contributing to the development and execution of evaluation plans and analytic plans for the Office of Oral Health and other DCBPC programs
• Conducting epidemiologic and statistical analyses in SAS and/or R using datasets such as hospital discharge data, mortality data, BRFSS, YRBS, YHS, and the Community Health Equity Survey
• Assisting program and epidemiology teams with grant-related activities, including collecting, analyzing, and reporting data
• Advising peer epidemiologists on statistical approaches and analytical limitations
• Preparing reports and data visualizations for a variety of audiences
• Providing additional support for CHEI and DCBPC initiatives as needed

SPECIAL NOTES
This position supports a dynamic public health program, and duties may change based on evolving needs. Any changes in responsibilities require written approval from both the CDC Foundation and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to best support public health priorities across the state.

The position is currently hybrid, though this arrangement may be adjusted by the CDC Foundation as needed.
