Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across the entire stack, with a strong preference for candidates who are especially strong in backend development. Solid experience with cloud infrastructure is required. Experience with startups—either through personal projects or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between the GMT‑8 time zone (U.S. West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we may consider other cases on an individual basis.

**Responsibilities and technologies**

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to solve their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the uncertainty and complexity that come with software development, helping clients build their products and define what’s truly necessary. Instead of completing predefined tasks, you’ll help set priorities and focus on resolving the issues that matter most to our clients.

We’re not married to any specific tech stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We usually work with AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with a core stack for web application development, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You should also consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Creating and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders
